Behind Studio Remi
Hey, I'm Alexa, the designer behind Studio Remi.
I started this studio because I genuinely love helping people figure out what their home should be. Not just what looks good on a mood board, but what actually works for how they live, how they move through a space, what they need it to do. Good design solves problems. Great design does it beautifully.
My background is in the custom home building world, which means I don't just think about how a space looks, I think about how it gets built. That perspective shapes everything I do, from finish selections to furniture sourcing to renderings that give you real clarity before anything is committed to.
That same instinct shows up in my own aesthetic. My style leans toward warm modernism — mid-century bones with a light, uncluttered feel. Clean lines, natural materials, spaces that breathe. A "less but better" approach. But what I love most about this work is that every client's vision is different, and my job is to help you find yours, not hand you mine.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me running, reading, golfing, or planning the next trip with my family. We live in the Midwest with our two dogs and our daughter, Remi — who, yes, is the reason this studio has its name.

Yes! If you're located in the Northwest Indiana area, I’m happy to meet in person. I also travel to nearby cities (like Chicago) for an additional travel fee. For clients outside NWI, I’m available for virtual design with all the same care and detail.

Every project starts with a quick intro call to learn about your space and make sure we're a good fit. From there, you'll submit your floor plans and inspiration so we can get to work. Before our design review session, you'll receive a preview of your design along with a short feedback form. So you can come to our live Zoom session ready to make decisions, not just see things for the first time.

Yes! You can schedule follow-up calls for larger projects, extra support, or more revisions. These are billed separately based on scope.

Yes! I pass along my full trade discount to all clients.

I offer a rush service for an additional 25% fee to expedite the process.
